MARIO BEMER

The Florentine Shoemaker

In the heart of Florence, where Renaissance artistry still shapes modern hands, Mario Bemer creates shoes that embody time, discipline, and devotion. Each pair is made entirely by hand, following traditions passed down through generations of master shoemakers.

  • Each pair requires weeks of meticulous work.

  • Each detail serves a purpose.

  • Each line is drawn by hand.

Because true luxury is not speed — it is time honored.

Attributes of Shoes Made By Mario

  • Bespoke

My fitting process goes far beyond standard measurements; it is an analysis of your morphology, posture, stance, and gait, ensuring each shoe is perfectly tailored to you. Understanding a client's lifestyle and personal taste is the final, essential piece of the puzzle, allowing me to interpret their vision into a shoe that is truly representative of who they are. Beyond the technical fit, these conversations reveal how the shoes will actually live—whether navigating city streets, attending formal engagements, or traveling.I want to create a deeply personalized piece that reflects the wearer's individual identity and purpose.

  • Materials Without Compromise

Only the finest natural materials are selected for each pair, by me—from premium full-grain calfskin and rare suedes to bespoke, hand-finished patinas. Committed to traditional craftsmanship, I never use synthetic or chemical materials. Every shoe is completed with entirely vegetable-tanned leather linings and traditional cuoio soles, ensuring a beautiful, breathable piece that ages gracefully with the wearer.

  • The Old World Way

I remain deeply true to the traditional Florentine shoemaking technique, carrying on the philosophy of a truly artisan-crafted shoe that my brother and I began in 1983. For over forty years, this heritage has guided my hands—ensuring that every pair is an authentic piece of history, crafted without compromise.

 Castello di Verrazzano

After the harvest, the pressed grape skins were laid onto vegetable-tanned leather, naturally staining it with the pigments of the vintage.

From this process, Mario created a Limited Edition collection of shoes and belts.

A Mario Bemer shoe begins with the last — sculpted to the individual foot. From hand-cut leathers to hand-stitched welts, every stage is executed slowly, deliberately, and without compromise. The result is a shoe that does not simply fit, but belongs.
